hey trevor,
hope your summer is going well. how are the birds doing
with regards to the molt. have you gotten any new birds for
your business? do you still have those two sakers? have the
birds almost finished the molt?
my RT is still working hard at the molt. he still has 4 tail
feathers to drop, lots of body feathers, several secondaries
and he has only lost 2 primaries on each wing. so hopefully
he goes molt crazy in the next 2 months or so. i'm thinking
of pulling him out of the molt at the end of august. and then
spend the next month getting him ready for alberta.
about a week ago he dropped on his new red tail feathers.
it had a little crack in it. so this might account why he
dropped it. i've heard of new feathers getting dammaged before
they have been hard penned and then the bird throws it and then
regrows this feather. so i'm still waiting to see this feather
grows in. his tail feathers are growing in with stripes on it.
it. so the bars he has on his juvie. feathers are staying
on the adult feathers. so this is kinda neat.
anyway i hope all is going well and i can't wait to see the birds
at the bbq. do you actually know when the date is and where?
talk to you later.
